Billing Plans
Plan tiers, what each one unlocks, and how upgrades and trials work.
Campaignly bills through Shopify’s native subscription system, so charges show up on the same Shopify invoice you already pay every month. You never enter a card on our site.

Free trial mechanics
Pick Starter or Pro from the Billing screen → review the Shopify charge confirmation → click Approve. From that moment:
- Day 1 → Day 14: trial active. Full plan features. No charge.
- Day 11 → Day 13: you’ll get a reminder email about 3 days before the trial converts. Cancel any time before day 15 and you’re never charged.
- Day 15: Shopify converts the trial. The next 30 days are billed at the plan’s price. Subsequent months auto-renew.
You can downgrade or cancel at any point — see Cancelling and downgrades below.
Upgrading mid-month
From Billing click Upgrade. Shopify prompts you to confirm the new charge. They prorate any difference (e.g. Starter → Pro half-way through the month bills a partial amount).
Plan-limit enforcement kicks in immediately: the moment you confirm the upgrade, the new caps apply. So if you were stuck at 1 active campaign on Free and you upgrade to Starter, you can schedule the 4th, 5th, etc. right away.
Downgrading
Same Billing screen, click Downgrade to
- You can’t downgrade below your current usage. If you have 5 scheduled campaigns on Pro, you can’t drop to Starter (cap 3) without cancelling 2 of them first.
- Downgrade takes effect at the next billing cycle. Shopify doesn’t prorate refunds; you finish the current month on the plan you paid for.
Cancelling
To cancel entirely, uninstall the Campaignly app from your Shopify admin (the standard Shopify uninstall flow). When the uninstall webhook reaches Campaignly:
- All active campaigns get cancelled.
- Prices on Shopify auto-revert to your originals (or to your manually-edited values if you’d edited any).
- Your Shopify Billing subscription stops immediately. You’re not charged for any remaining days in the current billing cycle.
Reinstalling later picks back up where you left off — see FAQ for how reinstall handling works.
What if billing fails?
If Shopify can’t charge your card on the 30-day renewal:
- Shopify sends you a “payment failed” email and a grace period (3 retries over 7 days).
- During the grace period, Campaignly still works on the failing plan’s features. We don’t drop you to Free immediately.
- If the retry budget exhausts, Shopify auto-downgrades the
subscription to “cancelled”. Campaignly receives the
app_subscriptions/updatewebhook and clamps your account to Free-plan limits.
You can re-add a card on the Shopify Billing page at any point to restore the higher tier.
Tax handling
All prices above are in USD and exclude any local taxes. Shopify adds tax at checkout per your store’s billing country. We don’t see or store any of that data.
